The 240 cm star posts are in and now my husband, Chris, has started to attach the chicken wire to the perimeter of our 2 acre paddock. He got 100m of ground protection laid and attached to an existing netting fence on the western boundary today. Next step for that length of fence is to have the upper layer of netting attached and leave to top most part floppy to prevent foxes gaining grip to jump over the fence.
The other change we made today was to move one of the large chicken tractors up to the soon to be fortified paddock and take 11 young roosters up there out of the house yard. We need to get ready for the new season's chicks that are due to start hatching in 10 days. I set the second incubator on Saturday so we are going full speed ahead. If any one out there wants an order of day old chicks please email us now email@example.com
